Jane Reilly

I have made my home in Prescot, Liverpool with my family for the past 28 years, a solid base from which I gained a BA in Fine Art at Liverpool John Moores followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Art Psychotherapy at Sheffield University.

I am now focusing on producing my own work where I allow ideas to freely build in an organic way until ideas are formed. Colour, texture and materials obviously play their part but it's the history and memories that are explored through the layers of paint.

Before living in the Merseyside area I was brought up in the Cheshire countryside. It has always been my local environments that have provided the many focal points for paintings and it's been a way of combining my industrial and rural past.

Over the years I have been able to travel to many interesting places and my paintings reflect the colours, sights and smells that I experienced. Some highlights were the frozen Canadian forests, the orchards in Slovakia and the back waters in Southern India. Walking and being outside in nature is where I feel most inspired and I look forward to continuing my journeys by foot and on canvas.

Three fabulous, new, 3D painitings by Jane. They are all acrylic on balsa blocks mounted on a mirror, this means the image is exciting and vibrant on all sides plus the mirror appears to double the size of the piece when you look down on it...all very exciting and clever. The reflections of the piece add another dimension too and obviously that becomes personal to you depending on where you place it and what it reflects in your space.

Large piece "The Gate"  30cm x 10cm x 5cm (£95), middle piece "The Fence" 30cm x 7.5cm x 5cm (£85), small piece "The Field" 30cm x 5cm x 5cm(£75). For more photos and details, please email.
